Adana Mixed Use Project

Adana, Turkey

2015

700.000 m²

The concept of the design emphasizes the multi-vision city Adana’s economic and social pattern that represents a collection of urban and rural (rurban) characteristics. That directed the design to follow mix-usages as function, hybrid of different urban needs and urban economies. The term hybrid corresponds to “one that combines two or more that derived from different sources, and composed of various elements”. Hybrid in architecture inspired by the results of a descriptive questionnaire held for Adana City and the idea distributed all over the project area with the same conceptual approach. The large scale project is a hybrid of public and private spaces, traditional Mediterranean architecture and contemporary architecture, high and low rise housing blocks, open and closed retail units which allows it technically bringing different systems all together within one body, and gaining higher level of performance.
