Concieved as one of the flagship projects in Tanzania, Arusha Master Plan aims to develop a self-sustained city to be called Safari City. From affordable housing to international convention occasions along with regional recreation facilities, Safari City, on an area of 250 ha., introduces a variety of functions and strengths the Arusha city vision to be destination of East African Community.
MIC, from Milan, Italy undertakes the transportation planning while DRESS & SOMMERS from Germany develops the infrastructural design settings. Kentsel Strategy from Turkey provides the urban planning and socio-economic framework. KOMMSULT from Beirut, Lebanon supports the project with its market researches and investment strategies.
The design development meeting took place in Istanbul on May 1st, 2013 and a workshop has been realized at iki design group by the participation of Murat Kader and Deniz Koca from iki design group, Francesco Maria Cerroni and Sabine Garrone from MIC, Mustafa Kosebay from DREES & SUMMERS, Faruk Göksu and Sıla Akalp from Kentsel Strategy. Representing the client SIGN JV, Kemal Akıncı and Korkut Zağlı have steered the workshop. The plan is being carried to submission stage to be delivered to Tanzanial National Housing
